GitLab Users? We Offer Unique Content of Reports, Charts, Trends and Insights about GitLab Product

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

We are pleased to announce that for the first time, we are offering the opportunity to benefit from our extensive accumulated knowledge about GitLab 🦊 (since 2015), even if you haven’t purchased GitLab licensing from us — through access to reports, graphs, and insights that we produce about the product monthly!

We decided to do this due to the high demand from GitLab users around the world who hadn’t purchased licensing from us (or were using the free edition) and approached about accessing our Gitlab reports. Recently we decided to make this knowledge accessible to everyone and increase product transparency, at a nominal price that quickly returns the investment.

Until now, we limited this information (at no additional cost) to our customers who buy licensing or annual GitLab support from us, and now, due to the demand, we’ve decided to enable those who do not purchase licensing or annual GitLab support to access this information as well for a nominal fee.

What do you get in this subscription?

  1. Monthly Update – Detailed Excel Report of ALL product capabilities (currently over 600), organized by criteria such as which edition the capability exists in (or not), category assignment, assignment to development process stages, capability explanations, technical documentation links, and more.
The report comes as an expanded Excel file, with built-in filtering and sorting capabilities (and an explanation of how to use and read the file).
Using the file, it’s easy to identify which capabilities exist in GitLab in a specific area (for example, CI or CD) and which capabilities are in the free edition, Premium, or Ultimate.
We release this alongside the new GitLab edition release (around the 22nd of each month).

>> An example Excel file (from version 16.7 released about a year ago) can be downloaded here.

  1. Monthly Update – Detailed Excel Report of ALL [NEW] Features in the product, organized according to various criteria, such as in which release it was launched, which product area it belongs to, user community popularity metrics for this feature, and more.
The file includes many sorting and filtering options.
The file includes thousands of new features (we started building it in version 11.0 about 7 years ago).
With this file, you can identify, for example, a cross-section of new features introduced in the last year or from a specific date, and do a secondary cross-section of a product area (such as CD, Version Control, or a specific Security capability).

>> You can download the following file to see an example of all features from version 14.0 (July 2021) to version 16.2 (July 2023).

  1. Bimonthly Update – Graphs of GitLab’s Development Trends, presenting the product’s progress, insights, and our analysis.
This allows you to see, for example, where the manufacturer’s effort is concentrated within the product for each Release, at the resolution of specific product areas, and more.

>> You can see an example in the attached file here (PDF of versions 16 to 17), and also in a public article we published a few years ago (that was very popular and impactful).
