We plan to enhance our current “Pending Changes” report (that compares two streams via R&D Reporter), to allow you to compare multiple streams simultaneously.
For instance, you can select an integration stream as the first (pivot) stream, and then compare it with all its child streams.
This way you can reach informed decisions by knowing which activities have to be delivered from all of the child streams.
There are many different ways to use this kind of report.
I’d like to show you a mock-up of the planned report and ask you the following questions:
- Can you rate its necessity for you and for your organization, from 1 [not necessary] to 10 [highly necessary]?
- If you find it useful, please tell us if you find it useful primarily for outgoing pending changes (equivalent to ClearCase delivery), incoming pending changes (equivalent to rebase) or both?
- If you find it useful, please tell us which utilizations you find it useful?
- If you find it useful, please tell us what roles in your company you think could enjoy this report (e.g. R&D manager, release manager, CM, team leaders, SW and QA engineers etc.)
- If you find it useful, please tell us which of the following report types you find useful (please order from the most useful): report to screen (including context-menu to get further ClearCase operations) ; Excel (XLS, XLSX); PDF; HTML; XML; CSV, Text file, email that could be sent automatically to predefine distribution list
Please view the mock-up in the following slides and send your answers to rfe@almtoolbox.com by Friday 8/31 at 10 AM EST, including your full name, position and phone number. We are holding a lottery of Amazon gift-cards (USD 50) for our poll participants!
